Backup

To protect the data within the EthicsAlert platform from data loss, daily backups are being preformed. These backups are stored at an off-site location.

Encryption

The contents of every submission (both the answers of the questionnaire as well as the uploaded files) are encrypted at rest. Only the whistleblower and the recipients who have been granted access will be able to read the content of the submission.

Besides the encryption at rest, the communication between client and server is encrypted in transit. This means that every answer and/or attached file is encrypted from the end-user computer all the way to the origin server.
